Welcome And Why Signs Matter

Welcome to Soul Sisteries. Hey there, everyone. This is Diana and Donna back for some more connections. We get asked a lot in some of the work that we do, which is um more spiritual in nature and expansive, like how we do what we do. I know I get asked that question a lot. And this is where we're wanting to offer some of our learned wisdom, dare I say that word? I don't know. It's our experience and uh stuff we think we know. And you find out for yourself. You follow your own path and make your own choices. But these are things we think you can do too, because everyone can, right, sis?

Fear-Free Approach To Spiritual Signs

Yeah, and I think that's exactly it. It's uh our experience, not necessarily our knowledge, what works for us, what what we've each found um to be true for us. And I don't think that either of us are trying to change anybody's mind if they don't believe, but just um, you know, for myself, I really recognize how things changed when I did believe. And so I think that's you know the important thing. And so today we just want to talk about signs.

Signs, exactly, because that is something that is there for everyone right now, and everybody can start building their capacity for the awareness, the acceptance, and welcoming those signs into their lives. I will say, in my experience, there is nothing to fear. That's a big one that gets in the way of a lot of people. There's a lot of messaging we have in our institutions and in our society that is very fear-based. There is nothing to fear here. There is only love, there is only light. Um, so that that is what I understand, and that has been my experience. So I want to start from that place. Like you are all safe and okay to expand and open yourself to the greater world that is here for you now. But you know, again, we're just we're talking about our own experience. Yeah, you do you.

And and you know, it's interesting because I think that of the scary things, um, signs are the least scary, right? Or the least um, the least forbidden because I'm not, you know, I'm not outwardly talking to spirit. I'm not um, you know, having this conversation that maybe I'm not supposed to have or that would be scary if I was calling somebody in, right? But it is just seeing the little, you know, some people call them the god winks, but just seeing the little, like, oh, I think that's for me, you know, it's um, you know, a heart-shaped leaf when you're, you know, going for a walk. It's the, you know, I don't know, the butterfly that shows up when you are, you know, open your door, those kind of things that, like, okay, is that a sign for me, or is that just a heart-shaped leaf for a butterfly, right?

A Text Message From Beyond

Yeah, yeah. And like Bible-based theologies have the fleece as part of, you know, throwing up the fleece and asking God specific for specific signs. And this is, you know, what I hope to see in order to have the validation. But you and I were talking about more. We're talking about those God winks, we're also talking about the um signs from those we love in spirit, right? Those signs that they are in fact there. I don't I want to, I'm gonna jump in first. My little story that started, and I've probably shared this on one of our podcasts somewhere. I don't know. Listen in again for those who have heard it before, but it's one of my favorite stories. So it was, you know, not long after my son, my eldest, McKenny, um, transitioned, that I was, you know, I was in a lot of deep grief and really in the the big throes of those um early weeks and months of that that pain. And I was in my car driving and um was talking to him as I did, and and not so aware that he's talking to me too, but talking to him. And just in my grief saying, honey, I just really know, need to know that you're here. I need to know it. I just please, please let me know that you are here. I mean, that's the agony of so much grief, right? Is this fear that they're just gone. They're gone. And what you and I know today is that's not at all true. They go on, we go on always, and they're here with us. So I asked him very specifically, let me know that you're here. So I hear a little ping, a text message, ping, and um, I don't, I don't answer it because I'm driving it. You're driving right, but I pull over and I check the message, and it's just it's a message from my husband who's sending me a picture of a car with a license plate that had her son's initials on it that he just wanted to share with me. And for him, that was a little sign, a little hello from her son. And I'm like, well, that's nice and that's lovely, but that's not the sign I'm looking for. I want directly and clearly. And so I go to save this photo to my phone, and I'm just hitting the save of the photo, and all of a sudden, my text messages, my old text messages from my son Kenny, who's been gone for months at this point, pop up one, this one in particular from a few years prior. And I've got hundreds of his messages on my phone. This one message pops up, and the message is yes, I am here. I love you. Now it's a message that he had sent years before when I had said, like, hey, did you get to your friend's house? You know, one of those mama checking in type of things. And he had said at that time, yes, I'm here. I love you. But that was the very specific and very clear. And oh my gosh, are you kidding me? I take that in my heart and I feel it throughout me. My son was saying to me very clearly, yes, I am here, and I love you.

And I and I wanna, I I love that story, and I want to add to that because you what you said at the end about that you feel it and you took it in. I I think that's one of the things about when we see signs, because there's lots of times that I will see something, and I'll share my butter, you know, my sign from Kenny as a butterfly, and especially an orange monarch butterfly. But um I've seen many butterflies, and I don't think them they're all signs from Kenny. Right. But there are some that I know is a sign from Kenny. And how do I know it? Well, I just know it, it feels different. I feel it inside. I don't have to question it, like, is it or isn't it? I just know it is. Whereas the other ones, it's like, oh, that's just a butterfly in my yard, right? So I think that is the piece. If you feel that it's a sign from your loved one, then it is a sign from your loved one, no matter what anybody else says. And and, you know, so when when Kenny passed, and my partner was still alive, and our sign from Kenny, you know, Kenny was like our child, as our godchild, you know, we were very, very close to Kenny. And we started seeing some butterflies. Now we had a good garden and we were bound to have butterflies in our yard. But there was one day, and and I guess this is really a sign that was for my husband more than me, but my husband was outside doing some yard work and he saw this butterfly, and the butterfly wouldn't leave him alone. I mean, for 10, 15 minutes just kept coming and flying around. It would have been true of Kenny in life, would I even? Yes, anywhere David went, Kenny would follow. And so um, you know, this butterfly kept coming and it would land, and then David would kind of walk away and it would fly to the next flower where David was and just kind of follow him. Well, we had a new puppy at the time that Kenny actually had gotten to take care of a little bit for us during that first year. And our puppy decided it was going to get the butterfly, and it did. It put the butterfly in its mouth, and the butterfly stopped moving. For all David knew, the butterfly was gone. Our dog got in trouble, got kicked out of the fenced-in area, had to leave, you know, while David took this butterfly in his hand and was devastated because this was his sign from Kenny. And he went and he put it on our table that we had over near the pool and just kind of left it in the sunshine and then went and talked to our dog a little bit and then went back to the butterfly. It took about 15 minutes, but all of a sudden the butterfly's wings started moving again and it shot up and flew away and landed on another flower. And it was just, I mean, and he recorded this and he ran in and got me. I mean, I got to come out to see when it when it started moving again. And it was just like 100% thank you, Kenny. And for me, it was that the reminder that he wasn't gone, that like it looks like he's gone, but he's not gone. And um, you know, so butterflies have been our thing since then. And, you know, I I thought I was getting one and only tat one tattoo in my life, and it's the butterfly, you know, for Kenny.

Um, can I tell you a little addendum? When I walked into my house about a half an hour ago, I turned around to look out at my yard as I walked in my door, and an enormous monarch butterfly flew right across my path, a single monarch there, to which I immediately said, Hi, honey. Yeah, honey, so glad to see you. Yeah, yeah.

Butterflies And Ladybugs As Hellos

Yeah. And I just love that. And that is, I mean, and he knew that we were doing this today, that we were getting together to chat about this. So you so you know, I mean, I see lots of butterflies, and I hear lots of people that talk about butterflies being their sign. And for me, butterflies are never David. I just know that they're Kenny. David wouldn't send me that sign because that's not him. That's our sign from Kenny. So um that belongs to him. My, I guess my immediate sign for David um was right after he died. And we had left the hospital. And mind you, I've always loved ladybugs, and he and I would always, you know, look at ladybugs in the yard and that sort of thing. And I had never ever seen a ladybug in my house or in my car prior to this. And we got into mom's van. Um, she was at the hospital with me, and we were gonna drive home. And the kids and I got in the car with her, and all of a sudden, I looked up and there was a ladybug on the sun visor. And I just knew right away that, and we were in a parking structure covered. We weren't even outside, uh, you know, and so this ladybug showed up, and um, we knew it was, and the kids knew it too. It was the kids didn't question it. The kids were like, oh my gosh, what's dad doing? You know, he's already sending us ladybugs, which was really cool. I mean, tattoo, yes. Um, and a few weeks later, um, our daughter, who was only 15 at the time, wanted to go running. We had never let her go running, let her go running alone. We always ran with her. And she wanted to go running, and it was the middle of COVID. And I finally decided, okay, as long as you stay in the yard, in the um neighborhood, you know, don't go out to the main streets. And so she put on the running belt and she had her phone and she was all geared up. And I said, you know, stay in the on our track. And not even five minutes after she left the house, she called me. So I'm freaking out thinking, oh my God, what happened? I need to go get her. And she's crying as she shows me, mom, I started running. And this she said, this guy stuck to me. And I'm thinking, like, what does she mean? A guy stuck to her. And she shows me, because we're FaceTiming, she shows me this lady bug that stuck to her running belt. Like literally, when she only had gotten like three or four houses past our house, and then it just stayed with her. That was a clear sign. It was absolutely thank you, honey, for running with her and making sure everything's okay. So, yeah, people could think we're crazy, but those were clear signs for me that both uh Kenny and David are here and that they're sending signs.

Why Signs Seem To Stop

Absolutely. Uh a hundred percent. And it's but and people nobody needs to believe any of this for it to to be true for for us and for others who are listening to us. This is this is the essential part of signs, yeah is accept them, ask for them and accept them. And you will discover in the accepting them that more and more they are in your field and your awareness. And there are those who would argue, well, when you're thinking about a thing, you're gonna see it. Uh-uh. I don't know. Maybe I mean that is a true thing also, but there is a different energy around something that is a sign, and there is the just allowing yourself to accept and believe that it is so that expands your consciousness, your awareness, your field around the signs that you get, and more and more come into your purview. Many people, when I do readings with people, there are a number of people say, you know, they stopped sending me signs, I'm not seeing them, I'm not. And the reality is they know they are not stopping sending you signs. There's something that's shifted in you, and and it could be even where how you're resonating, it could be the level of pain that you're these things cloud our field, right? But as soon as we allow ourselves that openness to the signs being there, more and more and more are there, more and more come. Our loved ones are constantly communicating with us, connecting with us. It's just undeniable. And the more we allow it, there it is.

Ask For One Specific Sign

Yeah, go ahead, sis. And and I think, you know, it's interesting because you you could talk about like when you're so heavy in grief, maybe you're not going to see the signs. And and I almost I I flip it a little bit because I think when I was so heavy in my grief, I was paying attention. I was looking for the signs, believe me. I mean, I several caught me off guard, would be like, oh wow, I wasn't thinking I would see you today. Um, but I was looking. And now, several years out, I could do that. Well, guys, why aren't you sending me any signs? Where are the signs? Right. And it's not that they're not sending me them. I know that they're all around me, but I am working, I am, I am, you know, taking care of the family, I'm getting things done, I'm my mind is on other things. And yeah, and that's not to say my mind is not on my loved ones. It is, but I'm doing a lot of other things. So, so I might be missing the signs. So along those lines, then there's the idea of okay, I haven't seen any signs. Well, you know what? I want a sign, kind of like you said to Kenny that day, give me this, give me the big sign. And I the kids and I were going away um just for the day uh one weekend, and I was talking to Kenny, I was taking some classes, and the my mentor told me, you know, just ask him for something, ask him for something specific. And I thought, okay, and I threw out there a purple dinosaur. And I kind of laughed because I'm like, oh God, is he going to show me Barney or something? I really don't need to see Barney. But I'm like, give me a purple dinosaur. And we went to this um kind of a market place, you know, with all these outdoor um easy ups and umbrellas, you know, selling their goods. And the first one that we walked up to that day had these little marionette puppets, and it was a little purple dinosaur, like not a Barney dinosaur, like a, you know, stegosaurus or something, but it was, you know, clear as day, the purple dinosaur for me. And I started laughing, and the kids did not know why I was acting so crazy, but I was 100% certain this dinosaur was there for me. I didn't have to buy it, thank you, but I did take a picture of it and um I played with it a little bit and knew that that was for me.

Of course it was, of course it was. Which that reminds me, one of the times I was visiting you, sis. Remember we went to that um it was like giant swap meet? What was that place? So we went to the Oh here.

Yeah, the um the flea market, the elephant market.

Yeah, that yeah, the elephant market, right? And remember that day, the same thing. We started that day, and I had asked Kenny, like, get be here, babe. I just need to see you here and need to know you're here. And we ended up, we parked in in section K, like that's where we were directed. Yeah, and then there was even a painting in there of a letter K. Like every time I turned around, there was a K here, a K there, a K. They were just it was absurd how many I was seeing. And that's the level of showing up, yeah, that that they do and can't do if we let them. If we let them. Yeah, we gotta, we gotta cooperate with them, right?

Energy, Numbers, And Electronics

Yeah, well, and and that's the thing, right? Like they are working hard on sending the signs. And I know, I know prior to me joining this journey, like I'd hear somebody say, Oh, that bird is my mom. And I'm thinking, like, what do you mean? Your mom showed up as a bird, like your mom's reincarnated as a bird, that's why this is your mom. It's not that at all. I it it's it's that we are all energy. Yeah, our loved ones are still energy, yeah, and they can manipulate energy. Yeah, and and they can manipulate electronics, lights, music, sound, little insects, much better easier than you know, something like a dog or or or a fox, right? So that's why it's the butterflies and the hummingbirds and the sparrows and those kind of things that they can manipulate to show us that they're there.

Yeah, yeah. The wind movement that comes a certain way. That absolutely and those things that suddenly draw our attention, right? That's another piece of it. The things that just it was there, but why is our attention drawn all of a sudden to something? And this is a lot of numbers, you know, to uh license plate stuff, times on a clock. I mean, the times that I look at a clock, and it is a 111 or a 1111. I mean, it just feels like every time I look at a clock. Yes, yeah, that is the numbering, which is also a Kenny, as well as the 444s. So yeah.

SPEAKER_01 19:20

And just last week, again, feeling like, where's the signs? I said, okay, I need to have a sign, like, and it has to be a David sign. And of course, in my head, I'm thinking, like, maybe I'm gonna see it on a van, a work vehicle, or something. So I said, well, it has to be like a construction sign of some kind, and that's the kind of work he did. And so I just kind of laughed and I thought, what is it gonna be? And I'm driving down a street that I've driven down many times since I've moved to this town, and all of a sudden, I look to my left and there's a sign for David's flooring. And I'm like, okay, there's your sign. And it's kind of like, okay, Jeff Foxworthy, like, you know, you might be a you might be a believer, here's your sign, sort of thing, you know. Um, but and and it's close to our Home Depot, which makes sense. David's flooring would be right across from a from Home Depot.

So that is very true. Yeah, it's very true. And I think of David when I think of Home Depot, yes, right.

Oh, as we call it, right?

So yeah, yeah. So anyone listening, wondering about signs, it really is this simple. You can do it too. These are connections that you can have this very minute. Truly, it's just a matter of opening yourself to them. Nothing can hurt you, nothing will hurt you. It is only good, it is only love. It only comes of love because really that is all there is.
